Helicobacter pylori is a bacteria that resides in the digestive tract. This bacteria, often found in the stomach, can cause inflammation, ulceration, and increased risk of stomach cancer. Low stomach acid, increases the risk of H. pylori infection because it creates a welcoming non-acidic environment in the stomach.
